• Assistant Project Manager (APM) For the “SWADHINATA” Project of Manusher Jonno Foundation
Working Conditions: The position is based in Dhaka, but travel is mandatory to the working areas outside Dhaka. This is a fixed-term contractual position for the project period.
Purpose: The Assistant Project Manager will be directly responsible for implementing day-to-day project activities in the field by providing guidance and advice. He/she will be responsible for ensuring the profile registration of targeted beneficiaries, monitoring the capacity building efforts provided /conducting training for the different target groups of the project. He or she will support the local partners in implementing the activities in the field.
Responsibilities
1. Project Implementation:
- Develop and oversee project plans, budgets, MEAL, and procurement with technical teams.
- Ensure smooth implementation, monitoring, and compliance with donor/internal requirements.
- Track and adjust budgets, generate reports, and facilitate partnership meetings for feedback.
- Build partner capacity, uphold gender/diversity commitments, and engage experts on program issues.
- Develop MoUs/contracts, evaluate partner proposals, and ensure effective project coordination.
- Monitor projects via field visits, feedback, and evaluation, guiding partners in addressing recommendations.
- Organize learning workshops, support documentation, and strengthen national advocacy linkages.
- Assess partner needs, design capacity-building programs, and guide policy development.
- Identify and collaborate with relevant organizations and stakeholders.
- Foster cross-learning, maintain linkages with policymakers, and participate in advocacy initiatives.
- Maintain project records, compile reports, and develop BCC/IEC materials.
- Document field visits, case studies, and team management processes.
- Integrate and monitor gender/social inclusion in MJF and partner organizations.
- Develop and guide the implementation of gender policies within programs.

The Assistant Project Manager must be a proactive team player, able to work independently with sound judgment. They should excel in building relationships within diverse teams, demonstrating sensitivity, respect, and adaptability. Strong communication skills, both oral and written, are essential, along with flexibility to handle changes, perform under pressure, and adjust working hours. Integrity, alignment with MJF's values, and cultural and gender sensitivity are crucial for fostering inclusive collaboration.
Required Qualification and experience
- Master’s degree in Social Sciences/Gender Studies/Economics/Business, or other discipline relating to Gender Equality and Governance.
- A minimum of five to seven (5-7) years of progressively responsible experience in a similar role.
- Working experience with national or international NGOs will be preferred.
- Age preference will be 30-40 years.
